In Nasarawa State, criminal elements have shot and killed Abdullahi Ali Akwanga after he successfully delivered a ransom of N3 million to secure the release of his abducted brothers. The tragic incident occurred on Tuesday night, January 30, 2024, along the Fadama-Ashiege road.
The assailants had initially abducted Akwanga’s two brothers and demanded the substantial ransom for their release. After complying with the demand and delivering the ransom, Abdullahi Ali Akwanga was reportedly trailed and fatally shot by unknown gunmen.
Details surrounding the incident remain scarce as of now, but it is suspected that the criminals took Akwanga’s life after collecting the ransom. In the Facebook post, Ibrahim stated, “He was not kidnapped but he was killed by the abductors of his two brothers when he took the ransom to the kidnappers. After he had taken the ransom, he was shot to death by yet-to-be-identified persons who claimed to be kidnappers. Until his death, he was a graduate of the College of Education Akwanga. We pray for the repose of his soul. Rest in peace until we path no more brother Abdul.” The community mourns the loss of a graduate who tragically fell victim to the violence associated with his brothers’ abduction.
