President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointments of key individuals to lead significant government agencies. These appointments aim to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of these agencies in delivering essential services to the Nigerian people.
Aliyu Tijani Ahmed has been appointed as the new Federal Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons. This appointment underscores the commitment of the government to addressing the pressing issues of refugees, migrants, and internally displaced persons in Nigeria.
The President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, conveyed this appointment in a statement issued on Thursday. President Tinubu believes that Aliyu Tijani Ahmed’s leadership will contribute to finding sustainable solutions to the challenges faced by these vulnerable groups.
Tinubu has also approved the appointment of Mrs. Delu Bulus Yakubu as the pioneer National Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer of the National Social Investment Programmes Agency (NSIPA). This appointment is pending confirmation by the Senate.
The National Social Investment Programmes Agency (NSIPA) (Establishment) Act, 2023, was recently signed into law on May 22, 2023. Mrs. Delu Bulus Yakubu brings a wealth of experience to this role, holding a Master’s degree in Agronomy from the State University of Bio-Technology in Kharkiv, Ukraine. She has accumulated over 15 years of experience in managing Social Investment Programmes.
President Tinubu has high expectations for Mrs. Delu Bulus Yakubu in her new role, emphasizing the need for efficiency, transparency, and the delivery of high-quality services at NSIPA. These appointments align with President Tinubu’s commitment to realizing the “Renewed Hope” agenda of his administration.
It is worth noting that President Tinubu had previously appointed Zacch Adelabu Adedeji as the Acting Director-General of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), highlighting a series of strategic appointments aimed at enhancing the performance of key government agencies.
