NNPC Limited Debunks Increment Of Petrol Price To N1,200

by KINGSLEY OYEMA

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has dismissed rumors circulating on Wednesday that it intends to raise the price of petrol to N1,200 per litre. Speculations arose about an imminent announcement of a fuel price hike across the country.

Responding to the reports, NNPC clarified that there are no plans to increase the price of fuel. The statement, signed by Olufemi Soneye, the NNPC Group Communications Officer, emphasized that the news of a potential petrol price hike was inaccurate.

The statement reads, “NNPC Ltd emphasizes it has not clashed with any party. The Punch headline is deemed unfortunate. The publication sought confirmation on the alleged subsidy reduction, to which NNPC responded that the subsidy has been entirely removed.”

NNPC’s swift response aims to dispel any concerns or uncertainties arising from the speculation, assuring the public that there are no immediate plans for a petrol price increase.
