President Tinubu Promises New Minimum Wage Implementation in 2024 in New Year Message

In his New Year message to Nigerians, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has pledged to implement a new minimum wage for Nigerian workers in the year 2024. The announcement was made during his New Year broadcast on Monday, where he addressed various issues, including the economic challenges resulting from fuel subsidy removal and exchange rate reforms.

“Every decision, every trip outside the shore of our land has been undertaken since my assumption of office on May 29th, 2023, has been made in the country’s best interest,” stated President Tinubu during his broadcast. The President highlighted the forthcoming implementation of a new national minimum wage as part of his government’s agenda for the new year. He expressed determination to prioritize the welfare of Nigerian workers, signaling positive developments in labor conditions.
