President Bola Tinubu has made significant appointments to the Media and Publicity Directorate within the Office of the President.
The announcement came via a statement released by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale. Ngelale underscored that these appointments were made with great respect for the principles of diversity and meritocracy.
Fela Durotoye – Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Values and Social Justice
Adetokunbo Olufela Durotoye, a prominent business consultant, leadership expert, and motivational speaker, has been appointed as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Values and Social Justice. Durotoye, born on May 12, 1971, hails from Ibadan, Oyo State. He was the presidential candidate for the Alliance for New Nigeria party (ANN) in the 2019 presidential elections.
Durotoye is the President of the GEMSTONE Nation Builders Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to equipping youth with the skills for transformative leadership and social change. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with Economics and an MBA from Obafemi Awolowo University. Additionally, he is an alumnus of the John F. Kennedy School of Government Executive Education program at Harvard University.
Fredrick Nwabufo – Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Engagement
Fredrick Nwabufo, a seasoned columnist, journalist, thought leader, communications strategist, and media consultant, has been appointed as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Engagement. He has a wealth of experience in investigative reporting, writing, editing, and media management. Nwabufo, originally from Lagos State, hails from Idemili North Local Government Area in Anambra State.
Notably, Nwabufo has conducted high-profile interviews with figures such as President Muhammadu Buhari and Nobel Laureate Malala Yousafzai.
Linda Nwabuwa Akhigbe – Senior Special Assistant to the President on Strategic Communications
Linda Nwabuwa Akhigbe, a seasoned reporter and anchor, with a strong background in broadcast media, has been appointed as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Strategic Communications. With expertise in news writing, journalism, program production and presentation, editing, and media relations, Akhigbe is well-prepared to contribute to the administration’s communication efforts. She holds a Master of Arts in Media, Communications, and PR from the University of Leicester and has dedicated 15 years of her career to Channels Television.
Aliyu Audu – Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs
Aliyu Audu, a prominent member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and convener of the APC Rebirth Movement, has been appointed as the Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs. Hailing from Kogi State, Audu is expected to bring his political acumen and experience to the role.
