The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has revealed new details surrounding the murder of a well-known crossdresser, popularly referred to as ‘Abuja Area Mama,’ who was found dead earlier this month in Abuja.
The lifeless body of the crossdresser was discovered along the Katampe-Mabushi Expressway on the morning of August 8. The FCT Police immediately launched an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the incident.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the command’s spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, shared that preliminary investigations identified the deceased as a 33-year-old male named Ifeanyi Chukwu-Agah Benedict.
Adeh noted that Ifeanyi was originally from Afikpo North Local Government Area in Ebonyi State and had been living in the Dapé area of Karmo, Abuja, before his untimely death.
The police spokesperson also confirmed that Ifeanyi’s family has been contacted and is cooperating with the police by providing essential information for the ongoing investigation.
