A mild drama is unfolding in Osun State ahead of the planned visit of the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to the South West state on Tuesday.
Senator Tinubu is expected to arrive in Osogbo, the state capital, on Tuesday for the groundbreaking ceremony of the Alternative High School For Girls at Oke D.O, Ilesha Road.
However, there seems to be a clash over the position of the First Lady of Osun State between two women associated with the Governor, Ademola Adeleke. Ambassador Arelu Ngozi Adeleke and Titilola Adeleke, the two wives of the Osun State Governor, are both laying claim to the Office of the First Lady.
Reports have it that both women have taken steps to outdo each other by printing separate posters to welcome the wife of the President of Nigeria to the state, and both signed off as the First Lady of Osun State.
Two different posters, each welcoming Nigeria’s First Lady to the state, have been circulating on social media, reflecting this tug-of-war over the title.
Titilola Adeleke’s poster reads: “Official turning of the sod ceremony of the Alternative High School For Girls at Oke D.O, Ilesha Road, Osogbo”.
On the other hand, Ngozi Adeleke’s poster reads: “Welcome to the state of the living spring. Experience the beauty of Osun State’s landscape”, signed off as the First Lady of Osun State.
