The family of the late Herbert Wigwe, former Group Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings Plc, has unveiled the itinerary for the burial ceremonies of Wigwe, his wife, Chizoba, and son, Chizi, who tragically lost their lives in a helicopter crash in the United States earlier this month.
Also, among the victims was Abimbola Ogunbanjo, the former group chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group Plc (NGX Group).
According to details obtained by TheCable, the commemorative events will kick off on March 4 with a celebration of Herbert Wigwe’s professional achievements at the Eko Hotel in Lagos. This event aims to honor Wigwe’s significant contributions to Nigeria’s banking sector.
The burial ceremonies for Chizi and Chizoba Wigwe are scheduled for March 5 at the Eko Hotel, where individual memorials will be held to celebrate their lives. Subsequently, a night of tributes is planned for March 6, providing an opportunity for friends, family, and colleagues to share their memories and pay respects.
A combined service of songs will take place on March 7 at the RCCG Resurrection Parish in Lekki, followed by a Christian wake-keeping event on March 8 at Wigwe University in Isiokpo, Ikwerre LGA, Rivers State.
The burial proceedings will culminate in a combined funeral service on March 9 at the RCCG Lion of Judah Parish in Isiokpo, followed by a private interment ceremony the same day. The outing service is slated for March 10 at the same venue.
The detailed programme reflects the family’s efforts to honor the memories of their loved ones and provide closure to friends, associates, and well-wishers amidst the tragic loss.
