Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf expressed his gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for refraining from interference in the Kano governorship election legal battle.
In a statement following the affirmation of his election at the Supreme Court, Governor Yusuf commended Tinubu and Shettima for their non-involvement in the legal proceedings, despite facing pressure from disgruntled elements.
Speaking to the press at the Supreme Court premises in Abuja, Governor Yusuf also extended his appreciation to all leaders of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), particularly the party’s presidential candidate, Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, for their guidance and support during the challenging period.
Governor Yusuf called on his opponent, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and his supporters to join hands with his government for the development of Kano State. Emphasizing the need for visionary leadership, the governor urged collaboration in initiating projects, policies, and programs that directly benefit the citizens of Kano.
The governor expressed gratitude to the people of Kano for their support, prayers, and steadfastness throughout the legal process. He also acknowledged the Supreme Court Judges for upholding the integrity of the judiciary. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf concluded his statement by appreciating the restraint shown by President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima in the face of external pressures during the apex court judgment.
