The family of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has conveyed their appreciation to various individuals and organizations for their steadfast support in advocating for the self-determination leader’s justice.
The message, signed by Kingsley Kanunta Kanu, the younger brother of the IPOB leader, acknowledged the crucial role played by Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the President-General and leadership of Ohaneze Ndigbo, the Chairman and members of the Joint Body of Southeast Traditional Rulers, Bishops and Archbishops, as well as certain Southeast Governors and members of the National Assembly.
The family expressed gratitude for the unwavering commitment of these leaders in seeking the release of Nnamdi Kanu since his controversial rendition from Kenya. The statement highlighted the significant impact of both overt and covert interventions, noting that such efforts had not only made a difference but had also inspired and motivated others to recognize the injustice surrounding Kanu’s case.
In a show of solidarity, the family extended encouragement to supporters who may have faced blackmail or false accusations during Kanu’s trial, urging them not to waver in their commitment to the cause of justice.
The message concluded with warm wishes for the festive season, expressing hope for a positive outcome resulting from the collective interventions and efforts of those involved in advocating for Nnamdi Kanu’s release.
