Nigerian chef Hilda Baci, previously holding the record for the longest cooking marathon, has been dethroned by Irish restaurant owner Alan Fisher, who achieved an impressive milestone in the culinary world. Fisher broke the record for the longest cooking marathon for an individual by cooking for an astounding 119 hours and 57 minutes, surpassing Baci’s previous record by over 24 hours.
Operating his restaurant in Japan, Fisher’s remarkable accomplishment doesn’t stop at the cooking marathon. He also claimed the title for the longest baking marathon for an individual, baking for an impressive 47 hours and 21 minutes. This achievement eclipsed the previous record held by Wendy Sandner of the United States, who baked for 31 hours and 16 minutes.
Guinness World Records officially recognized Fisher’s remarkable feats, announcing his new records via X (formerly known as Twitter) on Tuesday. They declared, “Nigerian cooking queen Hilda Baci has been dethroned. Alan Fisher from Ireland cooked for an incredible 119 hours and 57 minutes at his restaurant in Japan.”
This achievement not only highlights the extraordinary dedication and passion of Alan Fisher but also adds a new chapter to the world of culinary records. His record-breaking feats mark a significant milestone, capturing the attention of food enthusiasts and the broader public alike.
