Reports are surfacing indicating that the popular content creators known as the Happie Boys are facing imminent deportation from Cyprus. The dynamic duo, consisting of Kelechi and Johnson, currently finds themselves incarcerated in a prison within Cyprus.
Their troubles began several weeks ago when they were apprehended on allegations related to their involvement in fraudulent activities.
Notably, a close friend of the Happie Boys, who had extended hospitality to them upon their arrival in Cyprus, has revealed that their future in the country has been decided, and they are slated for deportation back to Nigeria. This revelation was brought to light through a leaked chat in which the friend disclosed the circumstances surrounding the duo’s detention.
The leaked conversation shed light on the fact that the Happie Boys were detained due to their failure to possess the requisite student permits, a consequence of their inability to settle unpaid school fees. Moreover, the friend noted the considerable challenges in securing assistance for the content creators, highlighting their history of publicly calling out individuals on social media platforms.
The leaked chat excerpt reads, “Happie Boys haven’t been released yet, my bro… before they can be released, all the fees they owe must be paid so they can obtain their student permits and regain their freedom. Additionally, if nothing changes in the next 30 days, they will face deportation to Nigeria from within the prison. Their detention primarily resulted from their lack of student permits, which, in turn, was due to their unpaid school fees.”
This unfolding situation underscores the significant legal obstacles that the Happie Boys are currently navigating, which have cast a shadow over their once-thriving career as content creators.
