A photograph of Nasiru Abdullahi, a notorious criminal known as Chile Maidoki, reportedly in a police constabulary uniform has circulated on social media months after he was declared wanted. The image, trending on various platforms and shared by Saharareporters, shows Abdullahi alongside a senior police officer at a Police College and Training School.
Chile Maidoki, who was declared wanted by the Kano State police command with a reward of N100,000 for his capture, was among the 10,000 police constabularies undergoing a six-month training program aimed at enhancing community policing across the country.
In a previous statement by the police spokesperson, Abdullahi Kiyawa, it was revealed that Nasiru Abdullahi had reported himself to the Commissioner of Police. In his statement, Abdullahi acknowledged sleeping in burial grounds in Kano city to avoid detection by security personnel.
The statement read, “One of the three notorious wanted criminals named Nasiru Abdullahi, popularly known as Chile Maidoki of Layin Falwaya Kurna Makabarta Quarters Kano, has surrendered himself to the Office of the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, upon hearing the declaration of N100,000 bounty for his arrest.
“This brings the total to 100 documented and profiled repentant criminals who have surrendered themselves to the police command.
“During his time in hiding, the said repentant criminal, Chile Maidoki, revealed to the police that he used to sleep in a burial ground yard in Kano City just to evade detection by security personnel.
“He is now appealing to the Police and the good people of the state to forgive him, asserting that he has repented and is ready to work with the Police to promote sustainable peace and development in the state. As such, he is not to be arrested by the Police or stigmatized by members of the public.
“The remaining two individuals with N100,000 bounties for information leading to their arrests are Abba Burakita of Dorayi Quarters and Hantar Daba of Kwanar Disu.”
