As the world celebrate Teachers Day, Teachers in Kaduna State have expressed their worries over the abduction of their colleagues in separate attacks by bandit terrorists.
Speaking on behalf of his colleagues yesterday, the chairman, of the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS), Kaduna State chapter, Ishaya Dauda, said no fewer than ten teachers were killed in the state from January 2022 till the present moment.
Dauda described the development as worrisome, urging Governor Nasir El-Rufai to take every action possible to ensure the release of school teachers abducted by bandit terrorists across the state.
In his narration during an interactive session with journalists, Dauda said bandits have abducted at least fifty teachers in the state within the period under review.
Dauda who lamented that the abducted teachers and other citizens are still in captivity said the union is fully aware of the insecurity that is threatening the corporate existence of Kaduna State citizens, especially in the schools, urging the State government to take proactive actions towards bringing the menace to an end.
The union stated that it is equally aware of efforts being made by the State government towards the recruitment of Kaduna State vigilante service to secure the schools against the incessant attacks by terrorists.
