Bandit terrorists have again launched a daring attack on the Kaduna-Birnin-Gwari highway in Kaduna State, kidnapping many victims and setting several buses ablaze.
It was gathered that the attack took place on Tuesday without hindrance from security forces which allowed the bandit terrorists to take their victims into the forest.
The development was confirmed by the Chairman of Birnin Gwari to Vanguards for Security and Good Governance, Ibrahim Nagwari who lamented that the people of the area are tired of incessant attacks and they now live in constant fear.
He accused Nigerian leaders of abandoning the people, stating that they are only interested in their 2023 ambitions.
It was reported that eight buses were set ablaze by the terrorists while they took away an unverified number of travellers, majorly children and females.
Speaking on the incident, Nagwari in a statement urged the government and the security forces to come to their aid and called on the people not to relent in their prayers.
He added that people may need to stop travelling through the area until the security situation there improved.
“It is evidently, clear, that, unholy marriage of bandits and Ansaru ( Boko Haram) have declared a total war on our people, yet the political will by the authorities to honour their oaths of office to protect lives and property of our citizens remains a mirage.
“Today 31st May, 2022, terrorists along Birnin-Gwari- Kaduna highway intercepted a convoy of motorists with security escorts between Kuriga and Manini near Udawa and prey on unspecified number of people that were abducted into the bush.
“In the last four days terrorists had lay siege on motorists on Birnin-Gwari-Kaduna highway, abducting as well as killing and wounded many innocent citizens, yet our people are reduced to silence mode with no reportage of the ugly situation nor any move by the authorities to show concerned on the deteriorating security around Birnin-Gwari-Kaduna highway.
