Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he plans to present a strategy for Ukraine’s victory to U.S. President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and former President Donald Trump in September.
Zelenskyy shared this during a press conference in Kyiv on Tuesday.
While Zelenskyy declined to provide specific details of the plan to reporters, he expressed confidence that it holds the key to defeating Russia in the ongoing war, which has now entered its second year. He emphasized that the plan’s success largely depends on whether the United States will provide Ukraine with the necessary support outlined in the proposal.
According to the Ukrainian news outlet, Ukrainska Pravda, Zelenskyy explained that the inclusion of Harris and Trump is strategic, as one of them could be the next U.S. president after the November elections.
“There is Ukraine’s victory plan. I’m not sure I can reveal everything. One of the elements, and part of this has already been done, is [Russia’s] Kursk Oblast. The second is Ukraine’s strategic place in the world’s security infrastructure.
“The third element is a powerful package to force Russia to end the war through diplomatic means. And the fourth element is economic. I will not talk about all this in detail. But the plan is ready.
“It will be fair if I first present this plan to the US President. The success of this plan depends on him, whether they will give us what is in this plan or not… and I think I will present this plan to him at a meeting in September.
“I also believe that it will be right to hand this plan over to both Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. Because we have yet to find out who will be the next president of the United States. And we want to implement this plan,” Zelenskyy said, as quoted by Ukrainska Pravda.
