President Bola Tinubu is set to depart Abuja today, February 5, for Paris, France, on a private visit before proceeding to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, for the upcoming African Union (AU) summit.
Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga confirmed the president’s travel plans in a statement released on Wednesday, February 5, noting that Tinubu will join other African leaders at the 46th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council and the 38th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of AU Heads of State, scheduled to take place from February 12 to 16, 2025.
“The president will arrive in Addis Ababa early next week for the African Union summit,” Onanuga stated.
He further disclosed that while in France, Tinubu is expected to hold a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron. “During his visit to France, President Tinubu will engage in discussions with his French counterpart, President Emmanuel Macron, on matters of mutual interest,” Onanuga added.
