President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is preparing to host Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for an official State Visit at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Sunday.
This development was confirmed in a statement released on Saturday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
Prime Minister Modi is expected to arrive in Nigeria on Saturday, marking a significant diplomatic moment as this will be the first visit by an Indian prime minister since Dr. Manmohan Singh’s trip in 2007, when both nations formalized their strategic partnership.
According to the statement, President Tinubu and Prime Minister Modi will engage in bilateral discussions aimed at deepening the longstanding ties between Nigeria and India.
“Both leaders will also oversee the exchange of signed Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) to foster cooperation in key sectors,” the statement added.
