The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has reiterated that the deadline for linking National Identification Numbers (NIN) with Subscribers Identity Modules (SIM) remains September 14, 2024.
In a recent statement, NIMC assured the public that its registration equipment and personnel, stationed at over 10,000 enrolment centers nationwide and abroad, are functioning efficiently to support NIN enrolment, verification, authentication, and data modification processes.
Kayode Adegoke, NIMC’s Head of Corporate Communications, emphasized that all services related to the NIN-SIM linkage are operating smoothly in preparation for the upcoming deadline.
“The Commission wishes to affirm that all NIN enrolment centers, both within Nigeria and overseas, are fully operational. Citizens and legal residents can visit any of these centers to complete their NIN registration and receive their identification number,” the statement read.
NIMC also announced that those needing to update their NIN data can do so via the NIMC Self-Service portal at self-servicemodification.nimc.gov.ng (terms and conditions apply).
Additionally, for inquiries related to NIN enrolment centers, procedures for data modifications, NIN verification issues, or other concerns, individuals can visit www.nimc.gov.ng.
The Commission reinforced its commitment to zero tolerance for extortion and unethical practices, clarifying that NIN enrolment is free of charge. Any incidents of extortion or improper conduct should be reported to [email protected] or by calling 07002255646.
