In a statement released on Monday, Crusoe Osagie, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media Projects, said, “The governor has accepted the resignation of Osarodion Ogie, who stepped down to pursue his ambition to serve as the Deputy Governor of Edo State.”
Osagie added, “Governor Obaseki thanks Ogie for his commitment and loyalty to the vision of building a vibrant and prosperous state, a vision that has been championed by his administration over the last seven years. The governor wishes him the best in his aspirations and trusts that he will bring his wealth of experience to bear in his quest to serve the people of Edo State.”
Osagie further announced the appointment of Joseph Eboigbe as the new Secretary to the State Government, noting that the appointment takes immediate effect. “Eboigbe, who served as former Special Adviser to the Governor on Budget and Economic Planning and later as Commissioner for Finance, will now take over as Secretary to the State Government to help drive the Governor’s ‘Finishing Strong’ agenda,” he said.
Describing Eboigbe’s qualifications, Osagie added, “Eboigbe is a chartered accountant who spent 15 years at Deloitte before transitioning into public service. He also holds an MSc in Leadership and Strategy from the London Business School.”
