The presidency has addressed the slip by President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday during the democracy day event at the Eagle Square in Abuja. Confirming the incident, Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, described it as a minor incident.
Explaining the situation, Olusegun noted that President Tinubu missed his step while climbing the parade vehicle but quickly recovered without any issues, continuing with the ceremony.
“Mr President missed his step while climbing into the truck at the June 12 Democracy Day celebration and tripped. It was a mild misstep. He immediately went on with the ceremonial rounds. No issues,” he stated.
Earlier reports had indicated that President Tinubu slipped and fell while boarding the parade vehicle at the venue of the 2024 Democracy Day. As he approached the vehicle shortly after arriving at the Eagles Square, Abuja venue, he momentarily lost his footing while stepping in.
Despite the slip, the President swiftly regained his balance and proceeded with the event.
