Emeka Rollas, the National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), has shed light on the circumstances surrounding his earlier announcement regarding the status of popular Nollywood actor, Junior Pope, who tragically passed away.
In a statement shared on his Instagram page on Wednesday, Rollas initially conveyed a message of hope, stating that Junior Pope was alive and undergoing treatment at an undisclosed medical facility.
Rollas wrote, “What God cannot do does not exist. Junior Pope is alive. He is taking treatment in the hospital.”
However, subsequent reports confirmed the devastating news of the actor’s demise, contradicting Rollas’ earlier assertion.
Addressing the evolving situation, Rollas clarified that his initial announcement was made in a moment of excitement, as they observed signs of life in Junior Pope.
He revealed that despite their efforts to resuscitate the actor, including seeking medical attention from two reputable hospitals, their endeavors proved futile.
In a somber reflection shared on Instagram, Rollas expressed profound sadness over the turn of events, acknowledging the transient nature of their earlier joy.
“It’s so so sad that our joy was short-lived. My first post was out of excitement when we noticed his tingling fingers. Two notable hospitals tried their best to revive him but to no avail. God knows the best. We finally lost him,” Rollas lamented.
Rollas also confirmed the identification of Junior Pope’s remains, while noting the ongoing search for three other individuals who remain missing following the tragic incident.
The poignant statement from Emeka Rollas encapsulates the emotional rollercoaster experienced by the entertainment community in the wake of Junior Pope’s untimely demise, underscoring the complexities and challenges faced amidst moments of crisis and loss.
