In a startling revelation on Sunday, Mr. Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the last election, disclosed that he has been receiving menacing threats after turning down tempting offers of undisclosed nature. The former Anambra State governor made these assertions during an interview on X Space, organized by “ParallelFacts.”
Despite the gravity of the situation, Obi chose not to divulge the identities of the individuals or groups behind the lucrative proposals. While facing questions from the host, he remained resolute, expressing his readiness to face any challenges that may arise from his decision.
“I can tell you the offers that I get today are mind-blowing. On the other hand, for refusing the offer, what they want to do to me is also very frightening. But I am ready to go through anything,” Obi declared.
The seasoned politician, who has consistently advocated for transparency and good governance, emphasized that he is not afraid of the potential consequences, including threats to his life. During the interview, he boldly stated, “I am not afraid of death, and I will always be on the right path.”
Obi went further to provide context to his fearless stance, asserting, “As I keep telling people, when they say, ‘Peter, you’re putting your life in danger,’ if I die at sixty something, I did not die a young person. Some people died in their twenties, thirties, and forties. And I have kids who are now graduates and doing their own things.”
In a poignant declaration, he concluded, “If I go today, it’s fair enough; as long as I don’t deviate from these things that I said from the day I decided to get in government. I will always be on the right path.”
The revelation by Peter Obi has sparked interest and concern, leaving the public eager to know more about the nature of the offers and the potential repercussions he may face for standing firm in his principles.
