Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has quashed speculations surrounding his health, asserting that he is “as fit as a fiddle.” The clarification comes in response to rumors circulating about the governor seeking medical treatment abroad.
Governor Adeleke, who arrived at the Lagos International Airport on Wednesday, addressed the issue, emphasizing that he feels rejuvenated after a one-month working vacation overseas. His statements were conveyed through his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, in a release issued on Wednesday.
“I’m elated to be back in Nigeria in the midst of my people. You all can see I’m in an excited mood as I’m now recharged and refreshed to deliver more good governance and service delivery to the people of Osun,” the governor stated.
Adeleke dismissed the insinuations about his health, declaring, “The insinuation of whether I’m sick or otherwise is unfounded. I am as fit as a fiddle. I went on a working vacation to both recharge and meet partners for the development and progress of our state.”
He attributed the spread of rumors to detractors who, he claims, are taken aback by the achievements of his administration. “Those spreading falsehood about my trip are just embarrassed and dumbfounded by our achievements. That’s why they’re spreading all those unfounded rumors,” Adeleke asserted.
The governor reassured the public about his well-being, stating, “I’m back now, hale and hearty. The good work continues in Osun.” With this statement, Governor Adeleke aims to put an end to the circulating speculations and refocus attention on the ongoing governance and developmental efforts in Osun State.
