Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has commenced an official vacation to Europe and Asia, according to a statement from his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, released on Saturday. During this period, the governor aims to finalize partnership agreements with investors and development partners in various sectors.
The statement highlighted that this vacation marks the first break for Governor Adeleke since assuming office a year ago. Rasheed emphasized that the governor’s trip is a working one, focusing on securing partnerships and collaborations with foreign investors interested in contributing to the development of the state.
Governor Adeleke, quoted in the statement, expressed his commitment to meeting the needs and expectations of the people of Osun, stating, “This is a democracy. My masters are Osun people who elected me into office and to whom I am surely accountable.” He clarified that the trip is part of his efforts to attract foreign partners keen on participating in various sectors of the state’s economy.
The governor highlighted the progress made in his first year in office, focusing on stabilizing the state and initiating projects in critical sectors such as education, health, culture, entertainment, water, sports, digital economy, workers’ welfare, infrastructure, and agriculture. The 2024 budget is labeled “Budget of Reconstruction and Recovery,” reflecting the administration’s commitment to sustainable development.
Governor Adeleke emphasized ongoing efforts in implementing a multi-billion naira infrastructure plan, showcasing the dedication to reconstructing and recovering Osun State from inherited challenges.
