The Baale of Ikorodu, who also serves as the Chairman of the Landlords Association in Lagos, has disclosed an unusual attempt to bury late Nigerian singer Mohbad at midnight, raising questions about the timing and circumstances of the singer’s burial.
Mohbad, a popular Nigerian musician, passed away last Tuesday, and his burial took place in Ikorodu, Lagos State, the following day. The swift burial has sparked inquiries and speculations, particularly given that Mohbad was a Christian.
Concerns and suspicions about the cause of his death have arisen, with some members of the public speculating about the involvement of his former boss, Naira Marley, and music promoter Sam Larry.
In a circulating video, the Baale of Ikorodu shared insights into the events surrounding Mohbad’s burial. He revealed that Joseph Aloba, Mohbad’s father, initially contacted him and indicated their intention to bring the singer’s body for burial at midnight. However, the Baale expressed his refusal to permit such a midnight burial.
The Baale, speaking in Yoruba language, explained the situation in response to questions posed by a lady in the background. He emphasized, “They wanted to bring him at midnight. His father called and informed me that they were coming with his remains for burial, I told him that the late singer couldn’t be buried in the midnight of that same day he died.”
The attempt to conduct a midnight burial has added to the intrigue surrounding Mohbad’s passing and has raised further questions about the circumstances leading up to his untimely demise.
