President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday sent a second batch of 19 ministerial nominees to the National Assembly for screening and confirmation for appointment as Ministers. However, some big names were missing from both lists, sparking reactions from Nigerians.
Some of the APC top shots who conspicuously missed out on the ministerial list include Femi Fani-Kayode, Festus Keyamo, Kayode Fayemi, Ben Ayade, Dimeji Bankole, James Faleke, General Abdulrahman Dambazzau (rtd), Sen. Hassan Muhammad, Sen. Tokunbo Abiru, Ahmed Raji SAN., Aminu Bello Masari, Hadiza Bala Usman, Nicholas Felix, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, Dayo Israel, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Babatunde Raji Fashola, Abdullahi Ganduje, Sen. Ibrahim Abdullahi-Gobir, and Sen. Ahmed Sani Yarima.
The absence of these names from the ministerial list has led to speculation that they may be appointed to other positions in the government. However, there is no official confirmation of this yet.
Some Nigerians have expressed disappointment that these top shots were not included in the ministerial list. They argue that they are experienced and qualified individuals who would have made valuable contributions to the government.
Others have said that the absence of these names from the list is not a big deal. They point out that there are still several other positions in the government that need to be filled.
It remains to be seen what positions, if any, these top shots will be appointed to. However, their absence from the ministerial list has certainly sparked a lot of discussion and speculation.
