Raymond Dokpesi, a prominent figure within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the founder of DAAR Communications plc, has sadly passed away at the age of 71.
The news of the PDP chieftain was confirmed by a family member on Monday, revealing that the media mogul died at a hospital in Abuja.
According to the unnamed family source, Dokpesi had been battling health issues since suffering a stroke shortly after the conclusion of the recent Ramadan fast. Despite his ongoing health management, tragedy struck during one of his regular gym sessions, The Whistler Newspaper reports.
The source revealed that an electrical accident occurred while Dokpesi was using a gym equipment, resulting in a stroke that eventually claimed his life.
The Dokpesi family, has however released an official statement regarding devastating loss.
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of High Chief Raymond Aleogho Anthony Dokpesi (Ezomo of Weppa-Wanno Kingdom) who passed away on May 29th, 2023. High Chief Dokpesi was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
